Turtle Caring

Feeding your Turtle

Omnivores (most turtles)::

 NO SPINACH!

Forest Tortoises:: Mixed amounts of fruits and veggies and about 12.5% of their diet should consist of protein, which may be found in cat food or worms

—-------------------------------------------

Desert Herbivores:: Mostly consist of timothy hay, and less of fruits, since they are used to a diet low in water

—-------------------------------------------

For all turtles, turtle foods in general provide good nutrition, when given natural foods too!

For most turtles and tortoises, you should give them as much food as the size as their head. Not very scientific, but like your fist size as your heart size, a turtles head size is their stomach size!

 As are all animals, turtles are an awesome pet! But turtles can be especially hard to take care of! You need to know if they are an herbivore or  an omnivore, and give it the exact amount of food it needs! And you need to touch insects! But, if you get through that, you’ll have a loving, and

hard-shelled turtle!

This page includes
Tortoises too!
